Question: Did Ronald Colman play the banjo? I swear I’ve seen at least 3 different pics of him playing one. I never woulda pegged him as a banjo player…..
I am so glad that I am not the only one who notices such things! One of the photos is from The Magic Flame (1927), in which he did (apparently - the film is lost) play the banjo. Another picture is from the set of that film. The one where he is wearing a hat is from the set of The Sporting Venus (1924), but that film does not appear to have anything to do with banjos. So, in short, I don’t know. It seems like an unlikely instrument for him. But I have wondered!
